4TB WD Portable USB External Hard Drive

Affordable external USB hard drive storage is finally here!

Western Digital has recently reduced the price of their high-capacity external USB hard drives and they are now incredibly affordable.  I always recommend this external hard drive to all of my clients that want to backup their computer or server to a local external hard drive.

This drive does NOT require an external power adapter because the drive is fully powered through the USB 3.0/2.0 cable that connects to the computer.  The drive is small and compact and it can easily fit into a briefcase or purse (for transport) or a small fireproof safe for storage.

Note: I recommend backing up your data to onto (2) or more external hard drives to ensure that the data on your PC and backup drive are not destroyed if an encryption virus infects your computer while the backup drive is plugged in.  Encryption viruses will often encrypt external hard drives first before they encrypt the PC/Server itself.
